The Shri Manshapurna Karni Mata Mandir is a serene hilltop temple in Udaipur, located atop Machla Magra Hill. It was originally built by Maharana Karan Singhji during his reign (1620–1628 AD), and today stands as a popular spiritual and tourist destination.
For many years, the temple could only be accessed by climbing a long staircase. In 2008, a ropeway was introduced by entrepreneur Kailash Khandelwal, in collaboration with UIT Udaipur, making the ascent easier and offering spectacular aerial views of the Udaipur cityscape and surrounding lakes.
The ropeway gondolas can carry six passengers at a time, and once at the top, a short walk leads to the temple. The shrine houses a serene white idol of Goddess Karni Mata, worshipped as a protector and mother figure.
