Sean McNally, saved his best friend’s life when he was electrocuted by a live wire.
He and friend Steven Portman were out and Steven who was ahead saw a piece of wire hanging over an electricity pylon.
Steven grabbed it and collapsed, still gripping the live wire. Sean says: “I knew if I touched the wire I’d get electrocuted but I’ve got to save my friend, I can’t let him die.”
He kicked his friend’s wrist and got a massive electric shock but Steven had stopped breathing and he started doing the CPR he’d learned at primary school. It saved his life.
Steven was so badly burned his arm had to be amputated.
Steven says: “Saving someone’s life, I mean what more do you want from a friend?”
Sean says: “I know I acted bravely saving Steven but Steven’s been the brave one with everything that’s happened in the last year.”
Claudia gives them the award and also two signed Celtic t-shirts.
