Mediation has again failed in the workplace dispute between independent MP Monique Ryan and her chief of staff Sally Rugg.
Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, who represents Ms Rugg, says there will be an interlocutory hearing again at the Federal Court on Friday.
Principal Lawyer Josh Bornstein has also revealed they’ll be adding to their court of claim.
He said the serious contravention claim they’ll be adding to the Federal Court action is “made in circumstances in which Dr Ryan publicly acknowledged that her staff were working 70-hour weeks and that it was not safe”.
He also said the Commonwealth had “been on notice” regarding excessive hours worked by parliamentary staffers for many years.
