Lighting O' the Grove -- An invitation for all!
Twas the night before LOG, when all across Smaries
Every little girl had tucked away her Sperrys
The tree was lit in front of Smedes with care,
In hopes that alumnae soon would be there;
The girls were nestled all snug in the Chapel,
Singing carols with Chorale and drinking cider of apple
Then later, each student went to the Grove
Where they met Santa and Ebenezer Scrooge
But no one could steal their great Holiday cheer
For everyone knew that Christmas was near
Bring a canned good and a dollar for Sandy
Let's make sure everyone's Christmas is dandy!
32nd annual Lighting O' the Grove: Sunday, December 9 at 7 p.m., front of Smedes Hall!
We will accept canned goods for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and cash donations for our "Stepping Out for Sandy" hurricane relief fund. We hope that everyone will bring at least $1 and one canned good.
