I have so much scrap offcuts steel that I keep and hope I get a chance to use it on a project. Well time has come for some of it. After watching Dave Gagne bust out a awesome lamp from bicycle sprockets I though I would do something similar and make a three tonne lamp from scrap steel! Sorry the video is a bit flashy due to the welding, just put your shades on and you should be fine.

Project details;
Scrap steel various thickness and sizes etc.
Wood - yep - I think Cedar.
Wood finished in Bees Wax
Steel finished in Gloss Acrylic
Welder - MIG using FLUX Core Wire. No Argon Gas meaning no shroud required on nozzle.
Electrics are from a store bought lamp.
