Caesar III (1998) (PC) (Impressions Games)

Описание: Caesar III is one of the few city-building games I became somewhat obsessed with during my formative years. I never finished the campaign, but learning how the city layout and economy worked was fascinating and rewarding enough to keep me coming back for more. One of the best features of city-builders from Impressions Games (Caesar III, Pharaoh, Emperor and Zeus) is the amount of concrete feedback you get just by observing the behavior and movement of your citizens. Other games like SimCity and the recently released Cities: Skylines rely more heavily on dry graphs, color-coded layers and other abstract representations of your city's overall health; whereas finding a problem that needs fixing in your Caesar city can often be as simple as spotting a poor delivery guy unable to move raw materials to a workshop, seeing people pack up and leave their homes or watching in horror as flames spread from one building to the next while an engineer scurries towards the fire. As with all games of this genre, figuring out what to actually do about the situation at hand is often a lot less intuitive than you'd like it to be (and some really infuriating design limitations where not fixed until later in the series), but Caesar III nonetheless established a terrific formula for city-based strategy gaming with a nice balance between complexity and playability.
