Woman Trashes Halloween Display in Toledo, Ohio

Описание: TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Throwing, tripping, and trashing a Halloween display. Video captured by multiple neighbors shows a woman hitting and tearing down a haunted set up in front of a home.

“They said that somebody was in our yard and destroying all of our decorations,” said Shannon Zeller who lives at the home with her husband Bill. “I don’t know what it was. There were speculations, but I hope she gets the treatments that she needs.”

It happened Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, during the 9 a.m. hour. Witnesses report the woman’s destructive rampage continued for more than one-half hour along the 5500 block of Suder Ave. in the Point Place/Shoreland neighborhood of Toledo.

The Zellers estimate the woman caused roughly $1,000 in damages. However, some items, they said, were priceless.

“I cried like a baby, honestly. I cried like a baby and I felt bad over the memories that are attached to some of the items that she broke. You know, we have handmade stuff that we made with our children. Unfortunately, we lost our son in a motorcycle accident Nov. 3 and there’s a lot of memories here,” added Shannon.

Toledo Police arrested Christina Horvath, 48, of Toledo. She was booked into the Lucas County Jail two weeks prior to this incident for allegedly throwing a rock through the windshield of a vehicle.

Horvath is now facing additional charges of criminal damaging and theft as the video also shows her placing various items from the property into her vehicle.

The Zellers are playing into the damage. They wrote “She Came in Like A Wreckin' Ball” on a sign next to a skeleton riding a wrecking ball, emulating the music video by Miley Cyrus.

“And I said, ‘Well, what can I do to just leave it as it is and make it fun and kind of make light of it? And I hope everyone else can just see we were just making light of a sad situation,” said Shannon.

It’s a situation caused by a woman the Zellers said they had never met before she damaged their display.
