From Drought to Hope – The Revival of Srinivaspura Lake

There was a time when the Srinivaspura Lake in Kolar District, Karnataka was not just a water body, but the very soul of more than 30 villages. Its waters quenched thirst, nurtured farmlands, and gave families the strength to dream of a better tomorrow. Children played by its banks, farmers sowed with confidence, and every drop of water was a blessing that kept life flowing.

But destiny had other plans. By the early 2000s, this once-glorious lake had turned into cracked earth and silence. What was once a shimmering lifeline became a barren reminder of loss. Farmers saw their crops wither, families walked miles in search of drinking water, and an entire community felt its heartbeat fade away. Along with the water, hope too had dried up.

And then came a new ray of light.
With compassion as its compass and determination as its strength, Aahwahan Foundation stepped in. Refusing to let despair be the final chapter, the foundation poured in love, effort, and vision to bring the lake back to life.

Today, after years of waiting, the waters have returned. The dry soil once cracked with pain now carries ripples of joy. Srinivaspura Lake is alive again — ready to nurture fields, fill pots with drinking water, and restore dignity to thousands of lives.
