This presentation examines how societal
stigma contributes to depression among
wheelchair users, intentionally using a broad
definition including both manual and power
wheelchair users. It will explore the impact of
ableism on mental health outcomes.
Attendees will gain concrete, actionable
strategies to more effectively support
wheelchair users to combat ableism in their
everyday lives. Additionally, the presentation
will trace the journey from initial concept to
publication, offering insight into the research
