People's Postcode Lottery's Charity Gala 2019 was held on 14 March at the University of Edinburgh's McEwan Hall. At the event, George and Amal Clooney were presented with prestigious Postcode Hero awards by the First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon, in recognition of their work to safeguard human rights.
Also receiving a Postcode Hero award was prominent women's rights campaigner Nice Nailantei Leng'ete, who has worked tirelessly towards ending female genital mutilation / cutting amongst Maasai communities in Kenya.
Three exciting projects were also recognised as the winners of People's Postcode Lottery's Dream Fund 2019.
