Laryngeal Paralysis

Описание: In this session Dr. Judy discusses the progressive disease, laryngeal paralysis. She defines what it is and what is occurring in our dogs that are suffering from this condition. Unfortunately, laryngeal paralysis is not reversible. However, there are things the pet parents can do to help. Keeping the pet from being overweight will help as well as feeding foods that are good for the kidneys such as bone broth, fish, eggs, and kidneys. There are times where laryngeal tieback surgery is required which usually leads to aspiration pneumonia. Dr. Judy also says that these dogs should be kept cool and out of moist environments. Reducing stress and making sure that there's no exercise while it's hot and humid will help as well. (Recorded 8/06/2020)
