Taken from NBC Nightly News, airing on WVTM-TV (channel 13) in Birmingham, Alabama. Following that is the 6pm news, as WVTM would air the national news before the local.
The anchors here are Kevin MacDowell (later at WICU in Erie, PA) and ex-WCVB anchor Heather Unruh in for Terri Merryman (an anchor that stopped in numerous DMAs, including Miami and Atlanta). WVTM was later sold to NBC as New World and Fox decided to send the latter network to WBRC, and is now owned by Hearst.
