Let’s understand this in 3 steps...

Firstly, some of the biggest banks in the world have recently given a view on gold’s price forecast as being between USD 4600 to 6300 per troy ounce... from the current about USD 4300...

Which means, the expectation is that gold could rise between 7% to 40% within the next few months for the calendar year closing in 2026 as per major global banks...

Second, whenever interest rates go up around the world... where Central Banks begin to offer more interest for buying their Bonds...

Then typically, Gold would fall...

Because gold doesn’t earn you a rent, interest or dividend... so as interest rates rise, institutions prefer to put money in bonds rather than keep it in gold...

This is especially true when the interest rate being offered by Bonds is more than that of inflation... because you can beat inflation using interest from Bonds...

And right now, the US bond rates are close to 5%... inflation is close to 3%... and thus the real yield being the difference between them is about 2%...

Whenever this happens, gold should ideally not rise...

So why are global institutions expecting it to still rise...

Because of the 3rd point... which is a culmination of a number of things happening at the same time...

AI stocks bubble concerns...
Geopolitical uncertainty...
China’s Central Bank is on an insane gold buying spree...

So globally, a large number of financial institutions believe that in the next few months, gold could not just touch its previous high, but surpass it too.
