Stongdey Monastery is recognized as the second most significant monastic institution in the Zanskar region. The Stongde Gompa in Zanskar, Ladakh, accommodates approximately 60 monks. It ranks as the second major monastery in this area. The Stongdey Gompa comprises a total of seven temples. The Tshogs-khang is adorned with exquisite paintings, some depicting deities against a black background outlined in gold. The monastery's notable achievements are attributed to Shakya Zangpo, a prominent figure from Stongdey.
