New Hyundai MobED robot | Delivery Reinvented

Описание: Hyundai has revealed the all new MobED, its first mass-produced autonomous mobility robot platform.

MobED is built on a slim, flat rectangular chassis riding on four wheels, each with independent suspension and drive-steering control via what Hyundai calls an “eccentric posture control mechanism.”

This design allows the platform to dynamically adjust its wheelbase and body posture, ensuring stability and balance even when traversing uneven, inclined, or otherwise challenging surfaces.

Each wheel is individually driven and steered with multiple motors per wheel, enabling omnidirectional movement. That means MobED can rotate in place, maneuver in tight spaces, and change direction fluidly, which is especially useful in cramped indoor environments or complex terrains.

MobED’s wheels are fitted with 12-inch pneumatic tyres, chosen to absorb bumps and reduce vibrations when rolling over irregular ground — a feature that enhances its adaptability for both indoor and outdoor use.

In terms of dimensions and mobility performance, the platform measures approximately 67 cm in length, 60 cm in width, and 33 cm in height, with a base weight of around 50 kg.  The wheelbase is adjustable, expanding to 65 cm for higher-speed stability, or contracting to around 45 cm for tighter maneuvering in constrained environments.

MobED’s top speed reaches up to 30 km/h. When equipped with a 2 kWh battery, it can operate for roughly four hours on a single charge, though this may vary in commercial configurations depending on load and usage.

On the autonomy front, the platform relies on AI-powered navigation, combining LiDAR and camera sensor inputs to map surroundings, detect and avoid obstacles, and plot efficient, safe routes, with an intuitive touchscreen interface and 3D UI design for ease of control.

Built as a modular platform, MobED supports a wide variety of applications. Thanks to universal mounting rails and open APIs, the robot can be configured for tasks ranging from logistics, delivery and material handling, to research, video production or other specialized assignments.
