October 17th, 2017: Makaya McCraven (drums), Theon Cross (tuba), and Ben LaMar Gay (cornet, diddley bow, voice) meet each other for the first time at Worldwide FM's former North London studio. They improvise together, live on the air, for a special #CHICAGOxLONDON program hosted by Tina Edwards and International Anthem co-founder Scottie McNiece, as a preview to the legendary showcase that happened at Total Refreshment Centre over the following two nights.
This video, filmed and edited by Mark Pallman and David Burkart, captures the first music collectively created by the three musicians, moments of which were incorporated by McCraven into his 'Techno Logic' EP (released October 2025 via International Anthem, Nonesuch & XL Recordings).
