Описание: In this video lecture, I explained the #ratio, #rate, and #proportion concepts.
The ratio is defined as the #comparison of two #quantities of the same #units that indicates how much of one quantity is present in the other quantity. It is used to indicate how big or small a quantity is when compared to another. In a ratio, two quantities are compared using division. Here the #dividend is called the '#antecedent' and the #divisor is called the '#consequent'.
For example, if there are six apples and four oranges in a bowl of fruit, then the ratio of apples to oranges is six to four (that is, 6:4, which is equivalent to the ratio of 3:2). Similarly, the ratio of #oranges to apples is 4:6 (or 2:3) and the #ratio of apples to the total amount of fruit is 6:10 (or 3:5).

Example: In a BSN class of 50 students, 30 are girls and the remaining are boys. Find the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls.

Total number of students = 50; Number of girls = 30.

Total number of boys = Total number of students - Total number of girls
= 50 - 30
= 20

Therefore, the #desired ratio is, (Number of boys: Number of girls), which is 20:30 OR 2:3.

For example, if there is 1 boy and 3 girls you could write the ratio as:
1 : 3 (for every one boy there are 3 girls)
1 / 4 are boys and 3 / 4 are girls
0.25 are boys (by dividing 1 by 4)
25% are boys (0.25 as a percentage)
