The Rog company’s golden age came in the 1970s and 1980s. At that time, the Pony was the most popular bicycle and more than that: it was a symbol of social status and a key part of growing up. The Pony was present in everyday life for many people, from children’s first rides to adults’ daily commutes to work.
The Pony bicycle was widely accessible. Many people bought it in instalments, through workplace unions, which made it affordable for all social classes. In addition, the Pony was often the only means of transport for workers, especially for women employed in factories in industrial centers where there was no organized public transport. The Pony was more than just a bicycle – it was a synonym for an entire country and an era, a time many remember as happier and simpler.
