John Williams - SUPERMAN - Main Theme
Kudos to John Debney. After his Re-Recording of JAWS, which didn't persuade me with its odd choice of highlighting the woodwinds in some key string passages, his SUPERMAN recording with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra was on point. Only thing it was lacking - to my view - was a version of the SUPERMAN Main Theme in its concert version: without the film narration intermezzo in the beginning plus the more epic percussion build-up many grew accustomed to. So I basically emulated this with some light mixing.
Thanks Varese for the great ReRecording that came at an unfortunate time, when Warner freshly released the expanded version of Williams' original recording on 2 CDs. However, since a superb digital rerecording will clearly get them young folks closer to this all-time classic, I felt like YouTube needed a crystal clear version of the concert version superman theme.
Now we have it.
