Broken Ducati Volume 3 - Will 749S Silicone Hoses Fit on a 749?

Over the summer, my 2004 Ducati 749 Dark started running poorly and according to the temperature gauge, was also running very hot. I’ve removed and replaced the coolant temperature sensor and the thermostat. When removing the coolant manifold, I noted that the original radiator hoses were getting a little old, and I figured I’d take the opportunity to replace them with new hoses.
I have aspirations to hopefully (eventually) run this bike on the track, and so I wanted to go with an AMA or FIM approved silicone radiator hose kit. The only problem is, I couldn’t find any kits for the 749, only the 749S and the 749R. I went through Ducati’s online parts catalog and found that all the part numbers for the 749s hoses and 749 hoses matched, so I pulled the trigger on a set of Samco Sport (Part Number DUC-5) hoses. In this video, I install them. I found that six of the seven hoses included in the kit do in fact fit the 749; only the upper radiator hose did not.
In subsequent episodes in this series, I will upgrade the starter cables to larger gauge, and ultimately (hopefully) get the bike back running again.
