1987 marked the 40th anniversary of Donemus, the publisher and documentation center for Dutch contemporary music. At the Holland Festival of 1987 the "Dutch Music Gala" presented an overview of Dutch music composed during those 40 years. A selection of works by Otto Ketting, Kees van Baaren, Ton de Leeuw, Tristan Keuris, Rudolf Escher, Matthijs Vermeulen, Peter Schat.
The interviews with some of the composers and others about the works performed shall appear in the last installment of this upload of 8 separate films.
Now: "Concerto for saxophone quartet and orhcestra", °1986, by Tristan Keuris, played by the Raschèr Quartet and the Residentie Orchestra conducted by Hans Vonk.
NB The recordings were all made on VHS, therefore apologies for the occasional VHS rumble and hiss and the at times unstable picture.
