Footage of an 8-Car M7 Set with lead car 7662 on Oyster Bay Branch Train 566 boarding and departing Penn Station. This M7 Set was thrown in to cover the section between Penn Station and Jamaica. The reasons for this happening are not clear, although it suggests that there is some issue with the DM30AC locomotives. As a result, there was no direct ride on this train, and to the entire branch from Manhattan that day as well. This is because Train 566 is the only direct Oyster Bay Branch train from Penn Station. All other peak service starts either at Long Island City, Hunterspoint Avenue, or Jamaica.
