As far as I can remember, my parents never seemed to show much interest in me. They would always be busy with their work, and whenever they did have time, they would spend it with my sister. I never really understood why, but it was clear that they favoured her over me.
I tried my best to make them notice me. I would get good grades, try out for sports teams, and participate in school activities, but they would never seem to care. They would always find some excuse to miss my games or events, and I would end up feeling disappointed and hurt.
