A key challenge for bridge owners all over the world is how to replace old and deteriorated bridges in their inventories more quickly, safely and efficiently.
• Which construction technique is the most efficient?
• Which bridge material will perform well throughout the bridge service life?
• Which solutions make economic sense within a limited bridge replacement budget?
In this presentation, we aim to discuss some of the key challenges faced by engineers when specifying a bridge. Joined by guest speaker, Dr. Michael G. Barker, PE, Professor at the University of Wyoming, who will discuss the findings of his study into the historical Life Service and Life Cycle Costs of typical short and medium span bridges, Betul Oliver, Acrow’s Business Development Manager in Eastern Canada, will draw on Acrow’s 60 year project experience across civil engineering and construction to examine the key features and benefits of modern modular steel bridging solutions, and explore how these versatile solutions are delivering real efficiencies for bridge owners across the globe.
