Removing the baffles definitely gave the exhaust a deeper, throatier sound. It’s hard to tell from the video because the microphone got maxed out and scaled the volume back a bit, but it is louder than stock. I really like the sound and volume output of the exhaust now. It’s loud and ballsy enough to be heard, but not so loud that it’s rattling windows.

With the loss of back pressure, I definitely noticed a decrease in my torque and "get up an go" after removing the baffles. So that is the trade off for having a better/louder sound unless you get the engine tuned to account for the change. I couldn’t tell you the percentage of power lost, but I would venture to say it’s not much. I can still get 0-60 pretty quickly and I can still get around when I open the throttle, it’s just not as peppy as it was. But let’s face it, this bike isn’t winning any drag races anyways.

I used a 2" hole saw with WD40 to drill out the baffles and a pair of pliers to extract. Took about 15 minutes in total to remove everything.

(Update: I’ve put about 1,200 miles on the bike since removing the baffles. I’ve yet to have any backfiring or pops and I’ve been riding her pretty hard. Lots of stop signs every mile, which equates to “checking your 0-60” pretty regularly, lol. I’m not disappointed with my bike’s performance after losing the back pressure. Doesn’t seem like much of a hit in gas mileage either. So far the pros outweigh the cons. I’d do it again)
