STP project was formed after the realization that humanitarian response is not well balanced, such that national non-governmental organizations who are the first and main responders to disasters are not enabled to take a lead in Humanitarian Response.
Capacity strengthening involves fortifying humanitarian response skills of staff and disaster committees to influence co-ordination skill at county level to deliver quality, timely and effective humanitarian response to communities.
The vision of the project is to support local actors to take their place alongside international actors to create a more balanced humanitarian system that is more responsive and accountable to disaster-affected communities.
