It's day 1 of my three day railfanning adventure across Northern New England, and I'm heading for East Deerfield, heart of the Pan Am Southern. After catching a couple of trains on the Vermont Rail System in Florence and Rutland, VT, I make my way to the legendary Hoosac Tunnel and East Deerfield. Just days before the Berkshire & Eastern took over operations, we see Pan Am Southern trains coming and going including 16R, 265/23K, 11R, and Conn River Local EDSP. I finish the day by chasing New England Central train 323 up the Conn River Line, including a meet with 601 at Claremont.
