📼 Volvo 8500 / B9SALE | Keolis 6450 (ZF)

Описание: Many of these over 18-year-old Volvo bendy buses are still going strong in Stockholm, Sweden. However, their time is limited as many have already been scrapped. They're definitely worth experiencing. If you like these as much as I do, I would recommend booking a trip to Stockholm as soon as possible!

As far as I'm aware, the Säffle bodied 8500LEA / B9SALE was specially designed for and in co-operation with SL (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, the organization for public transport in the Stockholm county).
The engine placement on the B9S chassis is also quite unique as the engine is located on the left side in between the first and second axles. The second axle is also the drive axle, which probably makes this bus perform better in the slippery winter conditions when compared to a more traditional bendy bus(where the drive axle is the last axle in the rear part of the bus).

The 9-litre engine mated to a ZF automatic make for a very smooth experience. The interiors of these buses are also rather cozy and comfortable, of course the age is starting to show its signs. I'm sure the comforting roar of the D9A engine is going to be missed, at least by some, as more modern buses eventually take over.
