We ran into a major motorcycle audio issue on our Harley bagger, so Christian Burnham from Rockford Fosgate stopped by in person to help diagnose and fix the problem. What started as a simple software update turned into a deep dive into Harley-Davidson audio wiring, amp power issues, harness pinning, and CAN bus communication.

In this video, we troubleshoot a no-power amplifier issue, track down a mis-pinned harness and blown fuse, update early-version Rockford Fosgate amp software, and upgrade the system to Stage 3 motorcycle audio featuring a 500-watt DNA amplifier and 6.5-inch three-way fairing speakers. We also show how modern Harley audio systems use vehicle-speed-sensitive EQ, smart amplifiers, and plug-and-play OEM integration.

We take a trip to Rockford Fosgate headquarters in Tempe, Arizona, check out their Harley-Davidson OEM audio systems, bag lid speakers, subwoofer setups, and explain how these systems automatically adjust EQ based on whether subs are connected.
