The relationship between a coach and client is a personal one. As a Health and Life Coach we always hope for the best with our clients, providing them with the best tools and resources possible to reach their goals.

Some clients commit and dedicate themselves to working with a coach because they’ve been facing a health crisis for some time, and need a level of accountability and support they haven’t been able to find. They are usually at a breaking point and sick and tired of the state they are in and willing to do whatever it takes to get results.

The story of coach Juan Pulido and client Cathy Durrett is an incredibly powerful comeback story we knew we had to share with you. Cathy realized that she needed the support of not only a personal trainer, but a Health and Life Coach, so she wouldn’t just lose the weight she’d gained due to numerous surgeries and diabetes, but she could finally feel free in her body and mind, through changing her habits that were keeping her stuck for so long.

Cathy, with the consistent help, support and guidance of coach Juan, was willing to go all in on her health and work through her negative habits, in order to get to a healthier place.

Juan became Cathy’s lifeline throughout her journey, walking alongside her as she began losing weight, eating healthier, gaining strength, and implementing mindset techniques Juan learned through his training in Become a Health Coach and the Coach Mastery programs.

Juan constantly challenged Cathy to push past her comfort zone and go further than she ever thought possible, including convincing her to get back on the ice and skate after many decades. Cathy grew up on the ice, and was set to be on the world competitor until injury struck her in college.

Juan motivated Cathy constantly and reinforced her strength and ability, working with her frequently to build her mental and physical resilience, to get back to doing something that lit her up for so many years, competing as an ice skater—something Cathy never fathomed possible just a few years earlier, as she could barely squeeze into an airplane seat and often had to use a wheelchair.

Through Juan’s coaching techniques and support, Cathy has overcome some of her biggest challenges and obstacles and is feeling more energized and younger than ever in her golden years.
