What started as a simple video about a not well known WWII prison camp in Zgorzelec, Poland, became one of the most moving experiences of my travels. At Stalag VIII-A, where thousands of Allied POWs were once held, I met Patsy—a woman whose father was a prisoner here. On camera, she shared his story. Then, by sheer coincidence, a former employee of the Meeting Point Memory Messiaen center also arrived and shared the mission of preserving this space of memory.
🎵 I also discuss the significance of this site as the place where Olivier Messiaen composed Quartet for the End of Time in captivity, and include drone footage, historical ruins, and commentary.
What began with a frustrating morning turned into a powerful human moment I’ll never forget. This video is about more than history — it’s about connection, memory, and the echoes of the past.
