Pakistan is one of our largest divisions at GHRD. Many of the cases we come across in this division are related to issues of forced conversion. Pakistan is a Muslim-majority country, at GHRD we strive to differentiate between innocent civilian members of the Muslim community, and Islamic fanatics who seek to deny minority religions of their human rights, such as the right to practice a religion of your choice.
With this in mind, the minority communities of Pakistan often struggle to practice their religion freely. GHRD often sees cases of Ahmadiyya, Christian and Hindu girls being abducted, raped and forcibly converted to Islam. This is a crime, and yet these girls struggle to seek justice as some Pakistani authorities have proven to be unwilling to support the minority communities.
