Today, we are taking the next step in that journey.
In this operation, we used the DJI Agras T50 to spray 47 hectares of seed maize in Chibombo, Zambia, applying a calibrated insecticide and fungicide mixture to protect the crop.
By the time we arrived, the maize had grown too tall for conventional tractor spraying without risking damage to the plants. Drone technology allowed us to fly precisely above the canopy and apply the treatment evenly without trampling a single plant.
This project highlights how precision drone technology can help farmers overcome real challenges in the field while improving efficiency and protecting high-value crops like seed maize.
We are still learning, improving, and documenting our journey as we work to bring precision agriculture solutions to farmers across Zambia.
