Victorian Premier Dan Andrews’ budget reflects a “dreadful” situation as the state government’s debt is the highest out of any other Australian state, says Herald Sun Business Commentator Terry McCrann.
“I mean give me a break,” Mr McCrann told Sky News Australia host Peta Credlin.
“Dan Andrews is claiming that COVID made him do it; COVID made him create all this extra debt.
“That doesn’t get you far because why did we get all this extra spending in COVID far more than the other states? Because we had those six lockdowns.
“He’s also claiming that Philip Lowe, the Reserve Bank Governor, made him do it – buy out and borrow all that extra money.”
