VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction
[1:00] The yarns
[2:41] presoaking the yarns
presoak in plain water no acid for at least 1 hour
[3:04] The dye colors
Dharma acid dyes
Caribbean Blue, Deep Magenta (both 0.5% Stock solutions)
Pecan Brown (1% Stock solution)
100 mL of each color for each bin we're going to dye
2 g dye total in each bin
[3:53] The dyebaths
Each shoe box has 8 cups of water, no acid.
200 g of presoaked yarn
wait 15 min before moving or adding acid
[6:55] Adding acid & moving the yarn
Add 3 T white vinegar and then lift and lower the yarn
cover the containers to cold process the yarn (note it was NOT winter when I filmed this!)
[9:55] Cold process dyeing
[11:17] 3 days later
Add more acid to the non SW yarn (almost all color has bound to the SW yarn, but not the non SW)
Added 6 T vinegar to the non SW yarn
[15:06] The next morning - Removing the yarn
[17:38] heat setting the yarn
steam set for 30 minutes
[19:40] Washing the yarn
[22:16] The finished dry yarn and conclusions
