Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop and in this video we will tell you about the Raise3D Pro2 Plus 3D printer.

The Pro 2 Plus is designed specifically to create large prints - the height of the device exceeds 3.3 feet.

The build volume is 12 × 12 × 23.8 inches. The build chamber is two times taller than in the original Pro 2 version.

The important feature of the Pro 2 Plus is that this FDM 3D printer can print with two materials at the same time. For example, you can print with two different colors or create supports with soluble PVA.

The machine features an aluminum and plastic structure with metal linear shafts. The printer’s kinematics is the same as that of the Dutch Ultimaker.

The Pro 2 has a Wi-Fi module, a large touch screen and a built-in camera for monitoring the printing process.

The aluminum print platform has a special coating that doesn’t require application of adhesives before printing.

The build plate can be easily removed without any effort. It’s held in place by 4 magnets that allow it to remain strong and stable during the printing process.

Unlike the original Pro 2 version, this model features a fully automated calibration.

Filament spools are installed in a special side compartment, one above the other.

The machine works with a special slicing program, IdeaMaker. It looks like a usual closed-source software made for a specific line of printers.

That said, IdeaMaker features multiple printing profiles and an advanced array of settings. This slicer can even help you prepare models to print with machines by other manufacturers.

IdeaMaker has a system for detecting and fixing defective digital models.

You can transfer finished models into your printer’s memory via a USB flash-drive, wire or Wi-Fi connection.

Pro 2 Plus is controlled via a large 7-inch touch screen. It significantly simplifies operating with the printer.

A camera inside the machine will allow you to monitor the process from a remote computer or a mobile device.

Some manufacturers introduce chipped filament, meaning you can only use their products. Pro2 Plus doesn’t have such restrictions.

However, Raise3D also has its own line of filaments - we used them when testing this printer.

According to the manufacturer, the minimum layer thickness is 10 microns. It’s worth noting that printing large scale models with such a layer height will take you days, not hours.

The printer works with standard 1.75 mm filament and is compatible with nozzles from 0.2 up to 0.8 mm in diameter. The package contains 0.4 mm nozzles.

The build plate can heat up to 230 °F, which will help you when using materials prone to shrinkage.

The maximum extruder temperature is 572 °F. Not the highest among 3D printers, but it will allow you to work with most of the modern filaments.

During the change of material the idle extruder moves upward by 1.5 mm. Switching takes no more than a second.

The printer features an optical filament runout sensor that will pause the printing if you run out of filament or if the filament breaks.

Raise3D Pro2 Plus can easily print with both standard ABS and PLA, as well as exotic plastics, such as wood materials or flexible filaments like Flex.

In the box, you’ll find hex wrenches, spatula, tweezers, gloves and 2 spools of filament.

In a very short time, China-based Raise3D managed to earn a good reputation among 3D printing enthusiasts - most of the reviews and feedback are positive. The release of the Pro2 Plus strengthened the company’s market presence, since this machine provides stability and high quality of professional 3D printing.
