Innovative Light Train + Mobility back on Track

Описание: The Innovative Light Train is a project conducted by a consortium of 10 partners led by SNCF: Thales, Texelis, CAF, Wabtec-Faiveley Transport, Railenium, Ferrocampus, Alstom, Capgemini, Cerema and Ektacom.

Its objective is to revitalise "regional lines" by offering more services at controlled costs. Thanks to the most advanced technologies and a new system approach integrating operations, rolling stock and infrastructure, the innovative Light Train will bring an overall cost reduction of 30% over its entire life cycle.

The train itself will be built around a single modular platform that can be adapted to all types of needs, passengers and even freight.

Its low weight and the use of an efficient electric motor using batteries, or even a combination of batteries and hydrogen cells, will greatly limit its carbon footprint.

The project's technological innovations will have a direct impact on the passenger experience, notably with the introduction of flexible suspensions that are less aggressive on the tracks. Similarly, the integration of a single driver's cabin in the center of the train will give passengers more space and light.

Other innovations will ease the traffic flow, such as the digitisation of the driver's interface, which will integrate driving assistance solutions (automation). Cutting edge signaling technology with a direct link to the cab, will eliminate the need for ground-based equipment. The train and its surroundings will be monitored by the train itself. When it is launched in 2029, the Innovative Light Train will complete the regional trains offer. Its circulation on small lines and provide an interconnection with major rail routes.
