A little summertime medley of pizza, hot dogs and ice cream! Sort of. The last two are some weird places for promoting hot dogs and ice cream. Ok, and maybe pizza isn't specifically summertime... more “any time” food... but it's right up there in the spirit of not spending too much time and energy worrying about nutrition and preparing a healthy meal. I say hot dog and ice cream commercials lightly... there's some subtle uses of each in here... and trust me, the last two commercials might just be the strangest! The Little Caesar one was later, but the other commercials are back from 1984 and 1986.
Adverse Archive is devoted to the capitalistic metaverse that is advertising: commercials! I've collected a couple hundred taped off TV VHS tapes and am slowly going through them extracting out the commercials and building an archive of Americana advertisements and pop culture references. I've developed my own software to extract and edit the files from the VHS conversions. This channel will feature a regular stream of quaint discoveries.
