Today we were treated with a rear mainline appearance from 60103 Flying Scotsman whilst on hire to Vintage Trains based in Tyseley where it is going to work Railtours over the next week and today the first one was a valentines Shakespeare express which is rare in the winter and running on a Saturday rather than a usual Sunday.

To start the day I originally planned to do Bordsley for the ECS movement but it was unfortunately closed so I had to walk from there to Birmingham moor street to catch the ECS. We had 60103 come through on the 20 mph speed limit with a push from 37240 on the rear up the climb to snow hill.

After Moor street it would go wrong again where my train to my next location failed at small heath but luckily the next one got me there in time. I headed to hall green to catch the Scotsman’s first run up to Stratford upon Avon where I got it picking up speed after a stop at Tyseley.

Once it passed hall green I headed to Danzey Green to get a shot of 60103 on the curve which is a shot I have not tried before. This shot worked out well though with the A3 powering around the curve in the Winter Sun.

For the Final 2 shots I headed to Wilmcote where I would first capture 60103 heading up to Stratford upon Avon on the Station and then once it passed I headed up to a bridge to catch it climbing the bank up to the station where the A3 was in fine form with no diesel assistance.
