Building work in any legal jurisdiction must comply with the relevant regulations and laws. But there is always a body of standards and guidance that underpin the regulations. How are they developed and what relevance do they have to day-to-day construction and building activity? Why should a competent Building Engineer have a good understanding of regulations, codes, standards and guidance? Where do we go to access the most relevant material and how can we influence the content of them when there being revised?
