MOUNTUNE CARBON FIBRE SPOILER LIP INSTALL! | FOCUS RS CARBON PART 6

The latest piece from Mountune for my Ford Focus RS MK3 is the Carbon fiber / fibre spoiler lip!

This mod is a half functional aero piece and half visual mod which, either way, is super cool!

Finished in dry carbon to match the plastic of the rear spoiler, the Mountune spoiler lip extension is exceptionally light, is Motorsport grade and comes with an accessory pack featuring a large alcohol wipe to prepare the bonding surfaces and a whole tube of automotive grade adhesive (German no less so you know it is good!).

The mod from Mountune extends the existing lip flick of the Focus RS wing but not by too much so as to not introduce drag so could be described as subtle but the back extends down over the wing blade nicely so from the rear looks fantastic!

I show the process of how to install the new Mountune carbon lip extension, starting with the prep of surfaces followed by sticking on with the sticky German adhesive and then securing it to set using tensioned tape!

The installation didn't take too long and wasn't too difficult although working with that sticky adhesive which is very tacky and a bit like tar can be a little messy so I would definitely advise you wear gloves!

After installation was complete I decided to go the extra step and protect the spoiler lip (and add more to the whole black section of the wing!) by ceramic coating using Carbon Collective Oracle which is a great top layer ceramic coating, especially in an area like this where impacts are unlikely so hardness isn't an issue. Super hydrophobic and also adds to the finish so ties the Mountune carbon lip extension together with the rest of the wing and makes it look like it belongs!
