Season 3, Episode 6: Little Vicky Lynn Hoskinson (8 years old) disappears in Tucson, Arizona, while on her way to the post box. Concern grows when her bicycle is found abandoned. The FBI, led by Special Agent Larry Bugley and Detective Gary Damers, tracks down a suspicious vehicle with California plates, leading them to Frank Jarvis Atwood Jr., a rapist on parole. The three-state manhunt (Arizona, Texas, California) culminates thanks to a call from Atwood's father. Although Vicky is not found with the suspect, FBI examiner James Corby links a paint stain on Atwood's bumper to Vicky's bicycle. Finally, the discovery of Vicky's remains in the desert and the courage of her mother, Deby Carlson, who pushed for legislative changes, close the case with Atwood's death sentence.
