Описание: After a long wait, PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) has officially launched the Toyota Hilux Rangga in Indonesia, with prices ranging from IDR 188.7 million (~RM 52k) to IDR 304.5 million (~RM 84k). Incidentally, this is the same model sold in Thailand as the Hilux Champ.

Each market launch is highlighted by multiple variants to cater to various needs. Indonesia is no different, with two engines, two body styles and a total of 10 variants:

The Toyota Hilux Rangga is built on the new IMV 0 platform (Innovative International Multi-Purpose Vehicle) and is positioned below the Hilux as a light commercial vehicle. It is also smaller and focuses more on modularity.

In fact, Toyota has collaborated with more than 70 local body builders or body factories in various parts of Indonesia, each with their own expertise and segmentation to make custom builds for customers’ Rangga. So from a pickup truck to a roadside copi counter or even a full cabin, it’s just crazy.

This is possible thanks to easily replaceable body parts (such as a three-piece front bumper, so you don’t have to replace the entire part, just a specific damaged corner) and officially supported accessories.

It can be customized to fit such a closed deck built by a third-party body shop.
The workload comes from the 2,305mm long and 1,700mm wide flatbed cargo deck for easy loading. This commercial vehicle has a payload capacity of 1.2 tons. There is also an optional 3-Way Deck for better ease of use.

Apart from that, the Hilux Rangga has roof rack mounting points on top of the cabin with a payload capacity of 75kg. There are also 8 hooks on the left and right sides of the cargo bed cover and 4 hooks on the rear door for securing cargo.

The top diesel variant, the High A/T, features typical features of a passenger car. For example, its exterior is equipped with LED headlights.

Inside, the standard seats are designed separately for the driver and passenger and are equipped with adjustable headrests for additional comfort. The higher-end variants also feature interior trim and a premium sound system.

In addition, the small turning radius of 4.9 meters makes it easier to maneuver in urban environments, especially on narrow roads.

The Hilux Rangga is available with two engine options for the Indonesian market, namely petrol and diesel engines derived from the Kijang Innova.

The petrol version is powered by a 2.0-litre 1TR-FE 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC Dual VVT-i engine, which produces 139 PS at 5,600 rpm and 183 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

The diesel model has a 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV 4-cylinder in-line engine, 16-valve DOHC and VNT Intercooler. The engine produces 150 PS at 3,400 rpm and 343 Nm of torque between 1,200 and 2,600 rpm.

The top version has a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential gear shifting, while other models offer a 5-speed manual transmission option.
