Viruses have very simple structures like core ( genetic material), Capsid, nucleocapsid, Envelope ( which is present in enveloped viruses) and glycoprotein in some viruses.
A bacteriophage is a type of virus that infects bacteria. In fact, the word "bacteriophage" literally means "bacteria eater," because bacteriophages destroy their host cells. All bacteriophages are composed of a nucleic acid molecule that is surrounded by a protein structure.
typical bacteriophage is short phage and have a tadpole structure consist of head and tail region.
head is made up of capsid and core.
while tail cosist of collar, sheath, baseplate and tail fibers.
