ABANDONED Predator’s MEGA MANSION (Indoor Pool & Basketball Court)

Описание: It is said that for a house to be considered a mega mansion, it must have 15k-20k square feet of living space. This mansion has 25k. Once sitting on a whopping 160 acres of land, this home includes an indoor pool, basketball court, hair salon, movie theater, attached apartments, and over 20 bedrooms. And the story behind it - even crazier! This entire complex was owned by one man, Rollie Washington, who was born in 1947 in Florida and achieved a true rags-to-riches story. His first job was as a janitor for a whites-only business to help support him and his grandparents, with whom he lived. Ultimately, he found love, married his high school sweetheart, and built a successful business, eventually being able to buy a farm near Washington, D.C. in 1985. The mansion we see today started off as a small house, but as his business kept booming, more and more additions were constantly being made, helping achieve his dream of having a big home for him and his family to live in. Around the same time, Asylums in the city had been closing down, and the city of D.C. began offering money to people willing to take them in. This was the beginning of Mr. Washington’s second major business venture, and the start of his tragic downfall. He started housing the mentally ill in the apartment rooms built in the mansion as well as nearby farmhouses, and was paid $180,000 per year by the government for doing that. However, it didn't take long for problems to start, as Mr. Washington forced the mentally ill to work for him, making them tend to his farms and horse breeding business at the same time. And in 1999, everything started to fall apart for him. A journalist began investigating him and the property, and soon discovered patients living in deteriorating farmhouses, and being paid just 5 dollars a day for their work. To make things worse for him, serious allegations also surfaced that he had sexually abused some of the people living under his care. After that, the funding disappeared, legal problems began, followed by financial pressures, and finally, his marriage started to collapse as well. By 2010, he and his wife were divorced, and Mr. Washington signed the mansion and its land over to his now ex-wife for just $150,000. It was then that everyone left, including their many children, all of whom were disgusted by the allegations put onto him, leaving him all alone in the mansion he had built for them. Eventually, while he was still living inside, his family sold the property to developers for over $6 million dollars with plans to demolish everything for a new neighborhood. However, he refused to leave, and they let him stay for the time being. For the next few years, he lived inside all alone, eventually moving into the basement section for easier access to his car, and literally watched his mansion rot and go abandoned around him, all while he still lived inside. And then in 2021, he was found deceased inside. Since then, it has been properly abandoned and empty, and will be demolished in the near future. Come along as we explore before it's gone forever.
