The piece consists of a melody by the French Romantic composer Charles Gounod especially designed to be superimposed over the Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, from Book I of J.S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, written 137 years earlier.

Acompañamiento para piano de "Ave Maria", la famosa obra compuesta por Charles Gounod, publicada por primera vez en 1854 con el nombre de "Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de Piano de S. Bach". La canción consiste en una melodía del compositor francés, pensada para ser cantada sobre el Preludio en Do mayor del primer volumen del "Clave bien temperado" de Johann Sebastian Bach, escrito 137 años antes.
