Teaching a Bird to Take a Bath | Alexandrine PROVES This Works!

Описание: Khush is an alexandrine parakeet who is less than a year old who came from a terrible home where water was only ever used as a scare tactic. However, parrots are SO INTELLIGENT, that if you take the time to train them and desensitize them to it in a positive way, they can learn to enjoy water again as a bathing tool! Water should never be used as punishment.

Thank you to Haley for bringing Khush in and trusting me to work with him! Keep in mind in this session I am morphing and changing the behavior I am looking for using "capturing" (which means to wait for a behavior to naturally present itself rather than manipulating the animal's body to achieve it)

With capturing you can have much longer training sessions vs if you are doing what I refer to as a "formal" session where you are training an actual trick behavior like the wave, spin around, retrieve, etc.
