"What are you going to do in Times Square?"

This question was most spontaneous amongst many sevaks and well wishers when they came to know that Mā Parvathy Baul was scheduled to perform at Times square, as part of Bengali New Year celebrations.

Parvathy ji always responded:
"It's a celebration that gives meaning to so many people who work silently and contribute to this society. Yet they are thirsty and ever looking forward to connect to the roots and celebrate our culture. I want to do my bit."

Thats how She stepped on the stage yesterday night at Times Square. This cultural hub of American Society is the melting pot of diverse cultures.

Mā Parvathy Baul when she opened the night with her Song "Sri Choron Pabo Bole", a beautiful devotional rendition of Bangladeshi mystic Panju Shah expressing love for His Guru.

The pace of the song seemed totally contrary to the noise in The Square and the glittering billboards that 'flash out' the reality. When She unfurled the waves of devotion slowly, it appeared Time at the Times Square slowed down and arrived at the stillness.

A young sevak who lives in New York, gave her understanding of the city in a beautiful way.

"Here people cannot survive, if they are Fake. One needs to be Real. One is pushed by the forces to step out of comfort zone and find their real ground."

But what is Real? This is a profound philosophical question.

Baul wisdom finds itself at home in reflecting such profound questions. Parvathy ji chose to sing the next song "Ami Ami" where the Baul is asking the seeker,

"We are stuck in this pattern of Me, Myself and I alone, but who is this true I, did you ever realise?"

This was such a poignant reflection to be unfurled right in the middle of Times square. Crowd joined the chorus in enthusiasm.
A short concert ended with chanting of "Hari Bol", where the sacred chant now leaves it's imprint in the heart of undecipherable noise at Times Square.

Mā Parvathy Baul concluded the evening with a superb good news! She invited young filmmaker Soumyajit who almost one year ago wrote to Parvathy ji expressing desire to make a feature film inspired from her life. He then spent one year researching and understanding the journey.

So here, for the first time, announcement about the upcoming movie was made as part of the currently ongoing Baul Yatra in USA.
