Greece's former King Constantine has said he is looking forward to his godson Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton, but urged the world's media to give the couple space on their special day.
"I think people are really looking forward to it, as much as they would be as if it were their own family getting married," said Constantine, who is expected to be a guest at the top table.
Constantine was speaking during an interview at his residence in London, where he has been living in exile since being deposed in 1967.
He declared that Prince William had found the ideal partner in Kate Middleton and said he would be able to draw strength from her in the years to come.
"Kate is ideal for him, she is a lovely girl," he said.
The former monarch said the wedding on April 29th would draw massive interest from around the globe, but asked the world's media to show consideration to the couple.
"Don't over burden them with 'is he wearing a nice suit or is she wearing a nice dress?' Leave them alone and let them get on with it," he said.
Constantine is Prince William's godfather. William, in turn, is godfather to Constantine's grandson, Constantine Alexios, whose christening he attended in 1999.
