Larry Winiwini cranks up this enormous yirdaki, emulating the style of his father Djalu' as he explains.
Winiwini's brother-in-law, his dhuway Gurraramawuy, made this awesome stick, and one of Winiwini's mothers, Dopiya's sister Nyapanyapa, painted it.
The stick itself is enormous by all counts, and, amazingly, is natural right up to near the end of the bell. There is some scrapping of the last 4 inches, but you can see that the natural bore is excellent to start with already and is dramatically conical in shape... small at the mouthpiece end and ballooning out to a huge bell.
I particularly like the crystal clear overtone note, and the thumping bass response achieved with tongued inflections.
